GODORT Mission

The mission of LLA GODORT is:

• to promote the collection, organization, and use of federal, state, and local documents in Louisiana;
• to make government information in all formats accessible to the public and to ensure its continued availability in the future;
• to promote a high level of reference service to the public;
• to provide the government information community a forum for cooperation, discussion and exchange of ideas, regarding problems and news about government publications and information;
• to contribute to the continuing education and training of librarians working with government information;
• to provide a means for initiating and supporting programs and publications to increase availability, use, bibliographic control, and management of these documents.
