Author Leo Honeycutt will be the featured speaker at the Public Trustee Luncheon During the Louisiana Library Association 2011 Annual Conference in Lafayette, Louisiana

Award winning journalist and author Leo Honeycutt will be the keynote speaker at the Public Trustee Luncheon on Thursday, March 17 at the Louisiana Library Association (LLA) Conference at the Cajun Dome in Lafayette, LA.

Honeycutt has been a television journalist for 28 years working with CBS News, ABC’s Good Morning America, NBC’s Today Show and CNN. During his broadcast career, he conducted an exclusive interview in the Oval Office with President Ronald Reagan and a rare interview with Muhammad Ali. He was the first broadcaster to interview Britney Spears and the first Louisianan to interview NASA astronauts in orbit.

Honeycutt is the author of the acclaimed novel, Over the Edge. He was also asked by the former Governor Edwin Edwards to write the governor’s official biography. After five years of prison interviews and exhaustive research, Honeycutt released the publication of Edwin Edwards: Governor of Louisiana, An Authorized Biography by Leo Honeycutt.

Edwards was Louisiana’s only four term governor and one of the most controversial characters in history. Honeycutt speaks from a unique perspective in the biography. He traces Edwards from his childhood to the governor’s office.

The biography has sales of over 30,000 and heads the New York Times Bestseller list. Honeycutt’s next book is Camelot Began in Louisiana, inspired when he unearthed more than two dozen historic pictures of Jack and Jackie Kennedy’s 1959 visit to Louisiana.
